More than just a College
Children and young adults with special educational needs (SEN) and visual impairment often face barriers to learning, living and taking an active, independent place in society.
InFocus provides the specialist expertise, equipment and adapted facilities to inspire, challenge and empower these young people from across the UK to live their best lives.
“I love being a student at InFocus College! InFocus has helped support my visual impairment by giving me the right equipment and it has helped me learn braille. I have made lots of friends here.”

Our Purpose
Everyone deserves the opportunity to live their life to the fullest, taking every chance to make decisions and control their own futures. At InFocus, we are dedicated to making this a reality for young people across the UK with vision impairment (such as blindness or partial sight) and complex needs, who often face a multitude of barriers due to the combined impact of vision impairment, other disabilities, and additional support needs.
About InFocus
InFocus offers education, care and support services to young people and adults with visual impairment and other complex needs. An Exeter-based charity, InFocus can trace its origins in the Blind Institute founded in 1838. Flash forward to today, InFocus is still providing specialist care for young adults, helping to develop their education and daily living skills.
InFocus Specialist College for vision impairment and SEN

At InFocus, we believe that every young person with a vision impairment deserves the same opportunities in life as everyone else. That is why we offer an integrated education and care service for those aged 16-25 with visual impairments and other complex needs.
Our Specialist College is based on a 13-acre site in Exeter, Devon. Located in the heart of the city, we have enviable on-site facilities that are fully adapted for the unique and ever-changing needs of our students.
We also provided tailored learning programmes, combining academic studies with practical skills, enabling our students to progress towards their goals and ambitions. We are dedicated to supporting each and every one of our students, whether they are looking to further their education, gain employment or develop independent living skills.
We understand that young people with SEN can face additional challenges, which is why we provide a range of specialist support services in addition to our educational offering.
